Carne Asada Tacos

I did a carne asada recipe not quite a year ago and it was pretty good. Check it out here [7]. But then I tried one that was a little different and I liked it better. When I asked what was different, I was told it used orange juice with some lime. Hmmm…I need to give this a whirl!

Here is the carne asada recipe I came up with – and we loved it!! I think it was better than the place I had it!

Here’s How to Do it:

Start by marinating the beef.  In a large marinating container, mix all the ingredients except the onion and the beef. Make sure it is well mixed.

Add the meat and turn it a few times. Put the onions on top, cover and flip the whole thing over. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for 24 to 36 hours, turning once mid-way through.

Heat up the grill and grill the beef and onions until the beef is charred on the outside but still somewhat rare in the middle.

Let the onions brown and get soft.

Remove it all from the grill and let the meat rest about 10 to 15 minutes.

While the meat is resting, warm the tortillas and cut up the condiments.

Slice the meat into very thin strips.

Serve it with your favorite condiments and enjoy!
