Brrr it’s cold! Woke up to 22 degrees! I’m in the banana belt of the Willamette Valley so that’s pretty cold for us! And I love it! This last week I spent time out in my garden and it was wonderful – cold but beautifully sunny!
The holidays are knocking at out door! This year I plan to go low key. I’ll decorate my house, maybe make some cookies, and give myself time to really enjoy the magic of the holiday season. But dinner time happens every day. I’ll be working on some low key meals too. Have any ideas? Let’s help each other out with the answer to …

OK 2020 – We’re ready for life to settle down! This last week has been a week of fear and tension and anxiety.
It all started with high winds on Monday. A huge branch fell, hit the back stoop and then fell across one of the ponds.
Yes – there is a pond under there!
It did some minor damage but made a huge mess and had to be cut up before we could move it. Unfortunately those winds fueled wild fires and we have devastation all around us.
By Tuesday they started evacuating areas. Everything was bathed in an eerie red glow.
My home is right on the edge of the evacuation zones. We talked about what we would take, how we would pack the cats (we have four) and where we would go if we need to leave.
Gratefully, we have been able to stay in our home, but so many people have had to evacuate – and so many homes and lives have been lost – and still the fires rage!
Our air quality is the worst in the world!! Yes, the WORLD! So I’ve been staying inside, trying not to exert. (The smoke even finds it’s way inside.) We can’t go outdoors without coughing. But there is rain in the forecast for Tuesday. We’re praying for a deluge! Our hero fire fighters could use the help!
