Fried Pickles – National Pickle Day

Fried Pickles – I tried this southern favorite for the first time and fell in love with the snack.  After some experimentation, I came up with this really good recipe – that was eaten really fast!  I’ll be doubling it next time!  So in honor of National Pickle Appreciate day….

Carefully place each slice into the fryer basket without over crowding.

Plain old “vegetable oil” is the best for deep frying – neutral flavor and inexpensive!

Fry each slice until golden brown.

To make the dip, mix the ranch with the horseradish.

I’ve seen these on TV and I thought – fried pickles??? We went to a pub a few weeks ago and it was on the menu so we tried it and loved it. I immediately came home and played with different coatings and dips – and this is what I ended up with – and we loved them too!! (So did my 19 year old grandson who just about ate them all!! )
